What are the 2022 Ram 1500’s New Features?
This model year is welcoming tons of updates for the Ram 1500 pickup. For example, all new 1500 models will come with an advanced air filtration system, which brings you crisp, fresh air by removing up to 95% of contaminants like smoke, dust, or pollen. The new 1500 also features an LED trailer hitch light, so you can have full visibility of your trailer hitch, no matter where you are. The Ram 1500 lineup has always been full of variety, and now there are several additional models to choose from, thanks to the new special-edition trim levels! For example, the BackCountry Edition amps up the Big Horn with off-road features like skid plates, hill-descent control, all-terrain tires, and much more! You can also opt for the G/T edition of the Rebel or Laramie, which brings you performance-oriented features like a metal pedal kit, aluminum paddle shifters, cold air intake, and a sport performance hood. This is just a small sneak peek into the many special-edition models of the Ram 1500 available for 2022!
What Engines Power the 2022 Ram 1500?
A truck with a lineup as diverse as the Ram 1500 is naturally going to need an equally strong lineup of engine options! It all starts with the 3.6-liter V6, which comes standard with the eTorque 48-volt mild-hybrid system. With this engine, the Ram can produce up to 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, and rear-wheel drive comes standard across the board. Your next option is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, which has 260 horsepower and a whopping 480 lb-ft of torque! The Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited trims come standard with the third engine option, a 5.7-liter V8 rated at 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, you can choose whether or not you also want the eTorque mild-hybrid system, but you’ll be getting a serious boost in power either way! Last but not least, those who choose the TRX trim will receive the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine which supplies the 1500 with an outstanding 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque! It’s thanks to this engine that the TRX can reach 60 miles per hour in just 4.5 seconds, making it the nation’s quickest and fastest pickup truck! In terms of capability, the Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 pounds when properly equipped, and has a maximum payload weight of 2,300 pounds. If you’re looking for off-road prowess, the Rebel and the TRX are the trims for you!
What Features Can I Find in the Ram 1500?
As we mentioned above, the Ram 1500 Limited is known as one of the most luxurious trucks on the market. This is thanks to its leather-trimmed bucket seats, as well as its heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and genuine wood accents. The Limited also features dual-zone automatic temperature control, and even offers an available 19-speaker Harman-Kardon audio system. For 2022, each and every trim level of the Ram 1500 will feature the new Uconnect 5 infotainment system. The Uconnect 5 comes with wireless smartphone connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and even allows you to use voice commands with Amazon Alexa.
